| HOT Volunteer Positions
|
A Hot Volunteer Position is one where PHS/SPCA has a special need for volunteers. If you are interested in one of these special positions, please email Brian Probst at bprobst@PHS-SPCA.org to get started. If you are interested in any of our other volunteer positions, please fill out a Volunteer Application and you will be invited to a volunteer orientation. Foster CareThe Foster Care Program is made up of those volunteers who offer temporary care for treatable companion animals during the period of time when they no longer require immediate veterinary supervision or behavioral evaluation at PHS/SPCA's shelter but are not yet ready for adoption. More Kitten Nursery (Seasonal April – August)The kittens involved in this program are potentially able to survive without their mother as their food source. They may not have been exposed to eating on their own, but would be old enough to be weaned if fed a high density wet food regularly. They would need to be fed 3 times daily by hand with a syringe. More Thrift StoreVolunteers restock shelves and assist customers and donors. They work with staff and other volunteers to keep the store attractive. More Wildlife Volunteer (Seasonal April – October)Our Wildlife Care Center is looking for extra hands to help with the influx of animals that we receive during our busiest months. Seasonal Wildlife volunteers will learn how to care for and feed baby squirrels and baby birds and will help with basic husbandry. More
