ADOPT-A-THONSaturday, July 11, 11am to midnight Last July, the shelter held its first-ever Adopt-a-thon. We remained open until midnight and found homes for 66 shelter animals, tripling our previous one-day record. This year, we have a plan to make even more matches, our own stimulus package. On July 11, we’re going to let adopters pick their own adoption fee! That’s for dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs or oinking pigs. It’s never been attempted in the area, but, as always, we think outside the kitty litter box when it comes to finding new homes for the animals. Plus, we’ll have pet supplies 20% off. Please join us!
PHS/SPCA Staff and Animals to Join Olympic Hopefuls During Summer Equestrian EventOn July 23-25, PHS/SPCA animals will be among the nation’s top horse and rider combinations when they visit Woodside, CA for Reining by the Bay (RBB). This multi-day event showcases these magnificent animals as they compete to earn huge prize money. PHS/SPCA, as a special invited guest, will look to meet new friends and find homes for animals awaiting adoption. RBB will match each adoption fee with a donation to the shelter. “We’re always looking for new ways to reach out to potential adopters/supporters and are honored to be part of this event,” said Ken White. Available pets will be a safe distance from the horse action, and will be given a prime, shaded spot to maximize their exposure to event guests. “As horse owners and animals lovers, our pets are members of our family, so pet adoptions mean a great deal to us,” said Mandi Brumley of RBB. “We hope our event will benefit PHS/SPCA and send pets home with new families.” RBB will take place at the Horse Park at Woodside, 3674 Sand Hill Rd., Woodside July 21-26. For more info, see www.reiningbythebay.com. Don't miss this once in a lifetime opportunity to watch the incredible event, and say hi to our pets. Admission and parking are FREE!
