You can help the animals at PHS/SPCA by bringing any of the following items to our Coyote Point location (12 Airport Blvd. in San Mateo) during shelter hours:
11 am to 7 pm, Monday through Friday
11 am to 6 pm, Saturday and Sunday

For all the animals
- Towels (used or new)
- Blankets (used or new)
- Paper towels
- Newspapers
- New small squirt bottles

For the dogs
- New or clean collars and leashes
- Kongs (all sizes, especially Extreme and/or X-Large Kongs)
- Soft dog treats
- Large Monkey Fist Rope Tug by Mammoth
- Hot dogs (low sodium preferred)
- Natural Balance dog food rolls
- Bubbles (regular or dog-specific)
- Aroma Therapy Scents (Rose, Sandalwood, Sweet Orange, Vanilla, Yiang Yiang, Marjoram and Lavender)
- Round plastic food storage containers (at least 25 oz.)
- Harnesses (preferably “Sensation” or “Easy Walk” harnesses)
- Unopened packages of dog treats (especially soft ones)
- Creamy peanut butter (unopened)
- Lavender oil (it’s relaxing for dogs too!)
- Rope toys

For the cats
- Fancy Feast or Friskies cat food (for tempting finicky eaters)
- SnuggleSafe microwave heatpads
- Canned tuna

- Plastic film canisters
- Plastic shower curtain rings

- Wooden houses and tunnels for hiding and chewing
For the birds
- Pellet food for large parrots
- Wooden/rope perches (all sizes)
- Bird toys (small & medium)
- Sisal rope
- Leather (for making toys)
- Bird toy making kits
- Medium/large unopened parrot seed
- Hand mirrors
- Safflower seed (a dove and pigeon favorite)
- Dried corn husks (available in most supermarkets)
For the reptiles
- Reptile or aquarium logs/décor for hiding
- Heavy shallow dishes
- 60w incandescent light bulbs
- CR2032 batteries
- AG12 batteries
- Calcium blocks for water turtles

For the Wildlife
- Toilet paper
- Heavy pet food bowls (any size)
- Heating pads (without auto shut-off)
- Smooth river rocks

One-time needs:
- Unscented clay cat litter
- Quality aquarium heater New or gently used exercise pens (x-pens) at least 30" high
- Doggie back packs (the kind dogs wear) of all sizes

Carpet (small washable throw rugs are ok)

Please do not leave these items with us, disposal fees can be expensive.
