Children Helping Animals |
Children Helping Animals Even though children don’t generally have jobs or a steady income, many have found ways to help our shelter animals. Some raise money by selling lemonade or baked goodies, for example, while others hold donation drives for funds and needed items. Classes and Girl/Boy Scout troops organize inventive projects, and many children even request donations to PHS/SPCA instead of birthday or holiday presents! There are numerous fun and creative ways to make a difference, and the children of our community have been most inspiring. If you know someone who fits this description, we would love to recognize their generosity with a certificate and/or tour of the shelter. Simply contact Dana Troy at 650-340-7022 ext. 389 or dtroy@phs-spca.org. To learn more about helping animals, check out our Caring for Critters pamphlet, which includes other suggestions for fundraising and collecting items to benefit the shelter animals. Click on the above link to download a copy, or have one mailed to you by contacting Katy Schwarz at at 650-340-7022 ext. 308 or kschwarz@phs-spca.org.
