Available Cats -page 1 2 3
Two (or More) for One Specials!
These cats came from the same home or have been recuperating together at PHS/SPCA. Although they are sometimes available to be adopted separately, they are bonded and would prefer to go to a new home together. Thinking of opening your home to two cats? You can't go wrong with kitties who are already buddies!
Brette & Jake
Hello, I am Brette, and I would like to introduce you to my sweet brother Jake. We are a bonded pair of 8 year old altered cats who want to go to our new home together. I am a Domestic Long Hair female with a beautiful long downy soft coat. I am outgoing and very playful. I am confident and I adjust quickly to new situations. My brother Jake is a Domestic Short Hair male with a gray tabby coat. Jake is a lot more timid than I am and he gets frightened very easily. Once he gets to know you, he is extremely sweet and loving. We both so desperately want a nice home. We would also prefer a home without small active children or dogs so that Jake will be able to relax. We may be able to adjust to living with a resident cat in your home. We both just had our teeth cleaned. Please come by the shelter to meet us and ask for ID A420593 and A420592.
Sox & Fancy
Good Day, Sox here. Let me introduce you to my best pal Fancy. We are a bonded pair of 3 year old altered Domestic Short Hair cats. I am a male and Fancy is a female. We lived together previously and want to go to our new home together. We lived peacefully with a toddler before, so with proper supervision, we may be able to live with children. We are both a bit shy and slow to warm up to new situations, so we will need a new home that will give us time and space to adjust to things at our own pace. Once we get to know you, we are both very affectionate and polite. We are a couple of great cats just patiently waiting for a new forever home. Please come to the shelter and meet us and ask for ID A422578 and A422579.

Cats in Foster Care
Occasionally one of the adoptable animals at PHS/SPCA goes into foster care in the home of a staff member or volunteer because it's determined this animal will benefit significantly from a home environment for health or behavior reasons. You can make an appointment to visit with a fostered animal by using the contact info in the description, or by contacting the adoption staff here at PHS/SPCA.
Miguelito
Why hello, you caught me in a rare quiet moment! My name is Miguelito and I am a 1-year-old altered male orange tabby Domestic Short Hair. This is what I look like after a long and rambunctious play session. But don’t be fooled, I can go on like this for hours so I really need a very cat savvy home that’s prepared to entertain my endless kitten energy and give me a job to do! (d’you have any mice that need catchin’?) I’m also learning how to not play with my teeth and claws and though I’m super smart (I’m clicker trained even!) sometimes I forget and need to be calmly reminded. I come with tons of toys as part of my adoption to help keep me active (and my claws away from your pretty couch). I’m otherwise quiet, clean, and sweet, when I’m not pre-occupied with chasing after your heels. I’m in a foster home right now, so if you have questions about me or would like to make an appointment to meet me at the Peninsula Humane Society, please send email to ALiljenwall@PeninsulaHumaneSociety.org. Please note my animal number: A414239.
Lady Mabel came to PHS as a stray kitty with an injured leg. She was found under an apartment building, scared, but easily warmed up to the animal control officer who rescued her. She began purring after the officer comforted her, and she has been a warm, loving cat ever since. She came in with a healing complicated fracture of her right rear leg, which we decided not to treat due to the age of the fracture. After she additionally came down with an upper respiratory infection, she was fostered by the veterinarians in their office to treat and monitor her. During that time, Mabel has been very good at keeping the veterinarians company, and in exchange she gets her choice of six different laps. Mabel is extremely sweet and tolerant of a busy office. She is an older cat, and at this point in her life, she would prefer to be in an only animal household, as she is less tolerant of other cats and meeting dogs. Please come meet and fall in love with Mabel, and take her to her forever home. If you'd like more information, please email Dr. Roberts at: eroberts@PeninsulaHumaneSociety.org.

My name is Sneakie Pie and I am a 2.5 year old brown tabby cat. I originally came to PHS as a stray last year and then I was adopted. Then I was found stray again last month, and I had a minor injury. Unfortunately, my adopter did not come back looking for me so I am up for adoption again! I am a really nice, sweet cat and quite the talker. If you’re looking for a buddy to follow your shadow and to carry on a conversation with you then I’m your boy. Luckily I was moved over to the Petco in Colma where I get to interact with other nice cats and am given attention by the nice employees — but still it would be nice if you came down to visit. I looove attention and will meow whenever you turn away from me. My reference number is: A393819.
Hi there, I am Milo, a 2 year old neutered male gray and white cat. Someone found me living in their backyard and I was so darn nice that they thought it was a shame I didn’t have a home. So now I am here waiting for a second chance. I have been waiting for almost two months now and let me tell you, I’m getting a little tired of the same old action. Even though I am quite young and do like a bit of adventure, I act like an older mature cat. I am fairly calm and I like having my space. I am done living outdoors and I think it’s time to try being a spoiled indoor kitty. I have shared a cat condo area with two females and I got along with them but I wouldn’t mind being an only cat too. Please come down and visit! My reference number is A419835.
My name is Puffers and I am a 6 year old furball! I have a lovely, long, black and white coat that I would love for you to brush and pet. I have been at the shelter for over a month so I am longing for someone to take me home. I ended up here because my owner passed away and his son couldn’t take care of me. While I was there I did live with a dog and I didn’t like him much but if he stayed in his corner and I stayed in my corner everything was all right. I am currently living in a kitty condo at this Petco and it sure beats being at the shelter. Won’t you come visit me so that I can convince you to adopt me? My animal number is: A421182.
Wednesday isn’t just "hump day" anymore – it’s me! I’m Wednesday and I’m much better than the middle of the week. I’m a 5-year-old altered female kitty cat. As you can see from my professional photo, I’m pretty adorable. I’m outgoing, friendly, and curious - making me a wonderful playmate. Gentle and tolerant, I’m also the purrfect cuddling partner. You don’t have to wait for hump day to come and see me – I’m here every day – just reference my lucky number – A331572. See you soon!

* These are only some of the wonderful cats we have for adoption. We do our best to update this page regularly (with volunteers) but we can't guarantee every animal shown here is still available. It's also typical that we have cats in the shelter who haven't yet had their photos taken, etc, so even though the site has been updated, that doesn't mean you're seeing all the cats here that are actually available at our shelter. So please come down to our shelter! It's a loving place and we are happy to help you find the perfect cat for you.
To hear a recording of the most current listing of animals for adoption, call 650/340-7022, ext. 705.
To adopt an animal, please visit the shelter in person to meet with a customer service representative and the animal. You can download an adoption profile form for a cat or a dog, complete the form and bring it with you to the shelter. Adoption hours are 11 am to 7 pm on the weekdays and 11 am to 6 pm on the weekends. (Note that it is often not possible for our staff to complete adoptions for visitors arriving less than an hour before our posted closing times.)
Our staff is busy taking care of the animals and making matches, therefore we are unable to answer inquiries about individual animals over email.
