Hope Stories - Pru

Pru

Pru was found dirty, scared, undersocialized, and shy. A real mess! The first time our Behavior Department staff worked with this Border Collie mix, it took them nearly 30 minutes just to coax her out of her kennel. During her first outing on leash, she collapsed fearfully to the ground and refused to keep walking. Despite all this, we saw promise. Pru quickly won the hearts of those who worked with her, and after countless hours of one-on-one TLC and training in the shelter’s Second Chance Classes, her confidence grew by leaps. She learned commands, improved vastly walking on leash and happily trotted to and from her kennel. After eight months receiving our specialty care at the shelter, Pru was placed into a loving home with a Pacifica couple and their other Border Collie.
