Hope Stories - Lady Mabel

Lady Mabel

One of our Humane Officers found Lady Mabel, a 12 year-old cat, and coaxed her out of hiding in the dark under an apartment building. After she emerged our officer gently took the severely matted cat to PHS/SPCA. Our staff cleaned her and treated her for ear mites, an eye ulcer, upper respiratory infection, and dental disease. She quickly became unofficial mascot of our Vet Office, where she spent much of her time. She even managed to reach the loudspeaker button on our vet's phone. Thanks to Mabel, the entire shelter heard our vet singing to her mother. After spending more than a year in our care, Lady Mabel found her forever home – a woman in Foster City.
