Hope Stories - Alexandra

Alexandra

Alexandra, a stray, began limping badly soon after arriving. Our vets examined her and found an old fracture, obviously untreated. Because no owner claimed her, Alexandra’s care and fate was completely in our hands. Our veterinarians consulted with each other and decided to surgically remove the head of her femur to relieve her arthritis symptoms. Due to complications during surgery, they had to amputate. Still, we didn’t give up. Shortly after recovering from surgery, Alexandra was adopted by a San Carlos family with two resident cats. Despite her missing leg, her new owners affirm she enjoys “speeding along” on walks with the family.
