PHS/SPCA is open every day except major holidays.
Adoption hours: Monday through Friday, 11 am - 7 pm
Saturday & Sunday, 11 am - 6 pm
PHS/SPCA is located at 12 Airport Blvd. in San Mateo, just north of Coyote Point Park by the San Francisco Bay.
UPDATE MAY 2008 - RAMP CLOSURE NEAR PHS/SPCA
Coyote Point Drive will be closed off starting Monday, May 12*. You will need to use Anza or Broadway Exits to get TO and FROM the shelter. The temporary routes are highlighted in red. Please allow a few extra minutes for travel time. print map with directions
Directions Northbound 101 to Anza:
Take Hwy 101 North to Anza Exit
Bear Right onto Anza Blvd.
Make a Right onto Airport Blvd.
Head South on Airport Blvd. (PHS/SPCA will be on the left)
Directions Southbound 101 to Broadway:
Take Hwy 101 South to Broadway Exit
Take the ramp following signs to Old Bayshore Hwy and Airport Blvd and go over the Overpass
Make a Right at the light onto Bayshore Hwy
Make a Left onto Airport Blvd and head south (PHS/SPCA will be on the left)
*Dore and Peninsula Avenues will remain open, however they will not connect to Coyote Point Drive. There will be no access to Airport Blvd from these exits. Contact Gaylyn Bollinger at 650/340-7022 x388 or gbollinger@PHS-SPCA.org with questions.
Regular Directions:
From the north: take Hwy 101 south and exit at Poplar Ave. Turn right at the light on Humboldt Ave. and turn right again onto Peninsula Ave. Cross over the freeway and bear left to follow the road under the overpass. Make a left at the stop sign onto Coyote Point Dr. Take the second left onto Airport Blvd.
From the south: take Hwy 101 north and exit at Dore Ave. Make an immediate left onto North Bayshore Blvd. Proceed past the San Mateo Muni Golf Course. Just before the overpass, turn right at the stop sign onto Coyote Point Dr. Take the second left onto Airport Blvd.
